Klinger (???)
20-something/Busboy at Kat Kafè
Goal: Remember his schedule
Klinger is a happy go lucky kinda guy that isn’t terribly bright.  Belakane and Rodney know very little about their roommate’s past as he claims to have missing memories.  But none of this bothers him too much, he likes to take care of things that are in front of him and all the rest he kinda forgets about.
Belakane and Rodney found him past-out late one night at the entrance of Town covered in mud and smelling like a rave.  Not knowing quite what to do, they took him home and cleaned him up.  Upon taking him home, however, they discovered that Klinger was coming down from some kind of high and was detoxing severely. Belakane knew how to hand the symptoms  so they didn’t bother taking him to the hospital.  When he got better, they tried asking him where he needed to go, but told them he didn’t even know his own name.  Belakane and Rodney named him Klinger after their favorite dress wearing character on M.A.S.H.  Since then he hasn’t bothered leaving and Belakane and Rodney bothered asking him to.

Rodney Reyez
19/Associate @ Prairie Dog Pump/ Part-time student Corner Mountain College
Goals: Beautician School
Rodney is a quite and somewhat timid guy. He has a hard time expressing himself and might come off too strong when he tries to verbalize his concerns. He has lived in Town since he was born.  His mother was an immigrant who used to be an amateur beautician out of their living room to make ends meat.  However after she remarried, she was beaten to death by her husband in the shower.  The local police called the incident an accident and the man was never charged. Rodney left home and began living with Belakane soon after.
Rodney has always loved and respects his mother, and wants to be a professional beautician as a way to be closer to her.

I do!! :-D !

My senior project is 15 pages because a month ago the publisher I’m aiming to work with asked for some corrections so I decided to rework my project and that put me behind quite a bit.  I was originally aiming to make 20-30 pages by the end.  But I’m pretty pleased with were I made it in the project :-m!

But I’ve also made up 3 posters (almost done) and a 3 illustrations for the project as well, so, pretty pleased haha!

Do you go to MCAD? or aim to? :-m?

Q:hey i'm heading to mcad next year and i was curious about your senior year experience! how was your senior project? were you able to choose your own ideas or?

straydogkidnapskids

Hello!

I’d be happy to share! But, since I’m a comics major, I can only really speak strongly to my department, so I hope that’s alright.

The way that Senior Project is set up here at MCAD let’s you chose between going and doing research (for a comic) and presenting that as your senior show or making a long narrative comic (this comic is something that can bleed into a project that you want to do after you graduate, be pages to go seek out work at companies, or pages to present your ideas to a publisher). For me, choosing between the two was simple because I’d already been working on my project seriously for about half a year.

So students are able to chose their own ideas and depending on what you want to do with your degree, teachers here will use their experience to help you cater that OR help you when you run into road blocks.

My experience on my senior year has been, haha, really stressful and terrifying, BUT also really fulfilling.  I haven’t worked on a longer narrative throughout MCAD, or really ever aside from some fan work I was doing in high school and my early days here at MCAD. So for me, it was really learning how to consider a narrative at length.  In addition to that, it also really help me set up a groove in how I work and figure out how long it takes me to get pages done.  This year also gave me a lot of guidance in what I want to do after I graduated and I was able to really concentrate on figuring out how to get there as well as have the confidence to ask for help from my prefacers and alum.

People here at MCAD are really helpful and everyone really want to see their peers succeed! So glad to here your gunna be joining part of the MCAD family and if you have any other questions, feel free to send me a message! Hope this was helpful! Have a gif!

Here are scrapped pages, as well as pages that where abandoned due to script re-writes and a little sketching I’ve done for this project thus far. :-)
This projects been really great.  Interesting, too, because I tend to use comics to gain closure on events in my life or emotions that where difficult to cope with (as exemplified by my other works).  I looked at my years in high school a lot for this project and I think it’s allowed my to heal some.  As well as begin to looking at the events in my life at the time through a more objective leans and analyze the decisions that where happing around me.
Anyways! now I’m just babbling, haha!
Enjoy the images!

That one con and printing that one thing

The Mini-Con went REALLY well :-0 surprisingly well! I won an award, and it was great! And because I go to an art school, my award was comics! 2 comics!

I even met people who follow me here.  Although I did spend a lot of time with my head down as i was trying to finish binding like 10 books haha.

over all, it was a really reassuring day since I’m going to probably start going to more conventions now that I’m graduating.  But as I have learned from my past con experiences, no one con defines the rest! So hopefully it’ll be an awesome year to get back in the game!

So ya, DAY CONCURRED! TAKE IT!
